It is a reminder that we are powerful, resilient and magical queens and that we should support each-other. The chorus, “tupe kiti mezani”, demands a seat at the table for women in all realms.
Lyrics “Kiti” (English translation in brackets)
Eee tupe tupe kiti mezani
(Eng: Give us a seat at the table)
Tupe tupe kiti mezani

Kama unafikiri we ni jua

Well if that’s true then we’re the moon
Bosi wa bahari, queens of the party, mother-daughter army
(Eng: Masters of the oceans…)
Bossy and we’re balling, destiny is calling
Ying and yang like mama sang
Tunakuja kama boomerang

Eeo kiti mezani
Tupe tupe kiti mezani
Eee kiti mezani
Eee kiti mezani
Tupe tupe kiti mezani
Eee kiti

Nataka kumonesha bibi – look we made it

Seated and tabled
Tuanyo kauli
(Eng: We have something to say)
Tunayo kauli – embu sikiliza
(Eng: We have something to say – so listen up)
