Born Onkabetse John Hlongwane, K-Zaka is excited to announce the release of his long awaited single titled Qhubeka. On the song, he features two talented artists – Lue and Nkosi K. The song is a fusion of Amapiano and Afro-pop, accompanied by some great vocals carrying a great message that encourages everyone to keep chasing their dreams no matter the challenges. The song is available to download and stream on all digital platforms and has been playlisted on several radio stations around the world, with the UK taking lead.
The name of the song, Qhubeka, is an Isizulu word that means ‘move on, and it was inspired by the modern use of the term ‘we move’, which is popular amongst today’s youth. Qhubeka is more than just a song; it is an affirmation to keep things moving no matter what. Every component of the song comes from a meaningful place as all the artists involved connected deeply with themselves when putting it together.
“The energies in the studio were aligned when we were recording this masterpiece. My contribution to the song was inspired by all the turmoil I went through in 2021. I reflected on everything that happened in my life and summed it all up. No matter how hard things may seem – it’s always best to ‘move on and focus on exploring new opportunities,” says Lue.
K-Zaka’s soulful and nostalgic chord progression, together with his lively production, guarantees a musical offering that caters for both ‘groove dwellers’ as well as music lovers. This song will leave you with a positive message while making you dance. “I strongly believe that people will relate to the song as it is a ‘feel-good’ song that is aimed at encouraging people to stop dwelling on the negative, especially with all the challenges we face due to the Covid 19 pandemic. This single is a synergy of great vocals, a catchy beat, positive lyrics and beautiful melodies. Musically, 2022 is going to be an amazing year!” adds K-Zaka.

“There is a reason behind why everything happens the way that it does in one’s life. Diamonds are made under pressure, so sometimes, life’s pressure is necessary, but we need to keep things moving regardless. My heart was in the right place when I wrote my verse for this song, and I know that it will touch many hearts that will receive it,” concludes Lue.
K-ZAKA is currently on a Club promo tour with the official launch for the single scheduled for the 25th of March in Johannesburg. A music video for the single is also on the cards. Qhubeka is gaining momentum on the streets and promises to be one of the biggest songs of 2022, judging from the response being received.
K-ZAKA has worked with Focalistic, Kwesta and Reason aka Sizwe Alekine to name about few.
