ABOUT PLAYNEVIG
PlayNevig, born Given Lebohang Nemathaga, is a music producer and DJ hailing from Tembisa, South Africa. Growing up with separated parents and experiencing the loss of his mother at a young age, PlayNevig found solace and strength in sports and music, which eventually shaped his path as an artist. He attended Tembisa High School and later moved to Kiblerpark, where he completed his Matric in 2017 with a bachelor’s Pass, he was an academically gifted student who consistently got A-Grades. At first the thought he would be a professional soccer player, he even got the opportunity to play for wits academy while still in high school, but injuries would crush his soccer dreams. From there on PlayNevig decided to dedicate himself fully to his music career. He is a self-taught pianist, music producer and DJ who has made a name for himself in the music industry having played keys and co-producing on countless Amapiano hits.
PlayNevig recognized his musical talent while still in high school and it was here where he began honing his skills, but he was more focused on soccer at that point. It wasn’t until 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic when live performances were restricted, that he started producing music professionally. Utilizing FL Studio and learning from experienced producers, PlayNevig discovered a deeper passion for music production.
One of PlayNevig’s notable career highlights includes co-producing “Dinaledi” by MajorLeague, a widely popular song that achieved great success in the country. This accomplishment propelled him further into the music industry, solidifying his place as a talented producer and artist. Since then, PlayNevig has produced for and collaborated with many musicians including Major League DJz, TeeJay, Abidoza, LadyDu, DJ Hlo, Bontle Smith, and many others. PlayNevig believes that music is a spiritual medium of communication, he aspires to connect with people on a deeper level through his compositions. Fans can expect a continuous stream of captivating music and engaging performances as PlayNevig prepares to release his debut single.
